We replaced the dense green foundation plantings with trees and shrubs in
shades of purple, red and pink, that compliment the grey of this
contemporary house on the Connecticut river. We began this property by
transplanting approximately 2400 existing perennials and shrubs to create
drifts of color and texture, this allows the gardens to explode with sensory
stimulation. Note the birdhouse, rocks, stonework and columnar Purple Beech
and Evergreens; these focal points, in combination with the ongoing flow of
color give this property year round interest and structure.
