A blank
canvas; this newly constructed home was an incredible challenge. Our design,
installation and construction included the driveway, drainage, irrigation,
lighting, deer fencing, and all plantings. In winter, the landscape
maintains its structural beauty and integrity with deciduous and evergreen
trees and shrubs and the strong focal points of the stonework. |

We created the hills and valleys on this Cliffside property with a view
of the Long Island Sound by following the natural contours of the land
when we bermed and adding rocks in such a way that they follow the
naturally occurring ledge outcropping. |

The rear garden of this property was on top of a seventy five foot
cliff, which had been blasted and filled to extend the garden. We
graded the steep slope to a more suitable grade so that it stays firmly
in place with plantings of grasses and Dutch clover. We planted the
field below as a wild flower meadow, a sight to behold in the summer
breeze with the grasses swaying and the bright colors of Blackeyed
Susan, Cone flowers, Purple Loosestrife and Goldenrod , to name a few,
holding court.. We planted the top edge of the cliff with Japanese
holly which stays strong and vibrant through all weathers. |
