The owner of this seventeen hundreds renovated cape, off the Long Island Sound, wanted a garden that is reminiscent of her property in New Zealand.  Because of this location we were able to fulfill her wishes with bounteous displays of Lavender, Roses, Russian Sage and other fragrant flora. 

We regraded the slope in the rear to address the drainage issues of water in the basement.  We built a cushioned stone-sitting wall to mimic the shape of an old foundation and a bluestone patio with fieldstone steps leading to an old restored pigsty sitting area.
